Consequences

The hunt scheme, utilizing different electronic databases, identified a sum of 330 articles. These articles were obtained after seeking on the footings chest malignant neoplastic disease, physical activity and quality of life. These footings were adapted in each database harmonizing to the mesh-terms. After choosing on rubric and content of abstract, the dual articles were excluded. This choice leads to an exclusion of 312 articles. Articles were excluded because they had no quality of life as chief result, the intercession was no physical activity and if it was n’t a RCT or a pilot RCT.

The included articles were non all full text available. After composing to the writers 13 articles were included and the other five articles excluded.

The included articles were scored with the Pedro mark. All articles were included with a Pedro mark & A ; le ; 4. Final included articles were 13.

Data extraction

The chief content and methodological inside informations from the relevant literature were extracted into a tabular array ( Table 1 ) , which organized the information under the headers of: writer and twelvemonth, survey design, sample size an population, measurings, exercising intercession, control intercession, chief result.

Data synthesis

Out of the 13 articles, six articles looked at quality of life after intervention, six articles investigated quality of life during intervention and one articles looked at both conditions.

Intervention during intervention

First an overview will be given about the articles where they investigated quality of life during intervention. In this status the chest malignant neoplastic disease patients are treated for chest malignant neoplastic disease with chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy and/or endocrine therapy. In these RCTs they were randomized into a group with the usual attention or in the group with exercising preparation. In two surveies they had three groups. In the survey Courneya et Al ( 2007 ) , they randomized the patients in a group with aerophilic preparation, a group with exercising preparation and a group with usual attention. In the survey of Segal et Al. ( 2001 ) , they randomized their patients in a group with supervised preparation, a group with place based preparation and a group with usual attention.

Exercise intercession

The exercising intercession was more or less the same in the articles, but there were some alterations. All articles exercised in a scope of 50 % -80 % of max HR or VO2max. The intercession had strength and/or aerophilic exercisings. The continuance of the preparation differed from five hebdomads till six months. There was besides a difference in strength of the preparation per hebdomad, there was a scope between one clip a hebdomad boulder clay five times a hebdomad.

Quality of life

Of the surveies that reported on PA during intervention included in this reappraisal three out of six articles reported a positive consequence on QoL ( Campbell 2004, Courneya 2007, Hwang 2007 ) . In the article of Mutri et Al ( 2007 ) , they found some positive effects on QoL after six months, but besides no effects on QoL. The two other surveies ( Segal et al. 2001, Cadmus 2009 ) remained consistent over clip.

Intervention after intervention

In these surveies the chest malignant neoplastic disease patients were treated for chest malignant neoplastic disease in the yesteryear. After they completed their intervention of chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy and/or endocrine therapy they were included in these surveies. In these RCTs they were randomized into a group with the usual attention after intervention or in the group with an exercising intercession.

Exercise intercession

The exercising intercession differed in some phases. Three articles exercised in a scope of 60 % -85 % of max HR or VO2max. The three other articles did n’t concentrate on per centums of soap. HR or VO2max. In all intercessions strength and/or aerophilic exercisings were used. The continuance of the preparation differed from eight hebdomads till six months. There was besides a difference in strength of the preparation per hebdomad, there was a scope between two times a hebdomad boulder clay five times a hebdomad.

Quality of life

Of the surveies that reported on PA after intervention included in this reappraisal three found a positive consequence on QoL as a consequence of PA ( Milne 2008, Daley 2007, Herrero 2005 ) . Ohira et Al ( 2006 ) found a little consequence. Two out of three points of the SF questionnaire were important. Rogers et Al. ( 2009 ) found merely a little consequence of PA 6 months after the intercession.
